American Iron-Steel Mfg. Co. was founded in 1926 and was initially involved in metal fabrication of a wide variety. In the early 1950's we partnered with the old "Chain Belt Co."(Rexnord/Linkbelt today) supplying conveyor belt idlers and chain as part of our conveyor frame. This was the beginning of our distribution business which is approximately 75% of our sales volume today. The other 25% is our fabrication, machining, repair and supply of bulk material handling equipment.
We represent many power transmission equipment manufacturers. We have two locations in the St. Louis area, our office and warehouse as well as our fabrication facility.
In addition, at our main office and warehouse locations, we have our own engineering staff utilizing one of the latest releases of Autocad. This enables us to design, build and install complete systems as well as offer components parts from our distribution business. At American Iron, we feel that our long history and knowledge of power transmission equipment are our strengths in soliciting material handling projects.

American Iron-Steel presently employs three outside salesman covering about a 200 mile radius in Missouri and Central/Southern Illinois. Because of our complete system capabilities we have participated in work all over the country largely due to our reputation in the St. Louis area with large corporate entities headquartered here.
